The dreaded Monday

Don’t you just love Mondays?

Aren’t they just so fun?

Oh, wait.  That’s Fridays.

When I think I about Mondays vs. Fridays.  I think it’s similar to vegetables vs. ice cream.

I mean really….if there was a choice, what would you choose?!

When I think about a new week, I realize there are things I put off last week because I didn’t have time or I didn’t want to do it.  So, I just left it for this week.  And now this week is here.

Hello, Monday.

Anybody else know what I’m talking about?

I just made my to-do list for the week and I’m exhausted.  I haven’t even left my house yet and I need a nap.

But, instead of being “Debbie Downer” I decided to change my perspective.  What did I do last week that I DIDN’T put off for this week?

What did I accomplish last week that makes this week a little less stressful?

Don’t you just cringe when someone says, “If you can’t change your circumstances, change your perspective.”

Ugh!

But, the truth is….they are kinda right.

Since we are all approaching Monday today (Yay!),  I thought I would offer a  goal for us all to accomplish this week.  (Calm down….it’s not that bad!)  Look at your to-do list from today thru Friday.  Is there something you ALREADY decided you were going to put off until next week?

If so, do it this week.

It might be as simple as an extra load of laundry, a phone call that needs to be made, an extra errand you can run.  I don’t know what it looks like for you.

But, in the great words of our friend, Ben, “Never leave to tomorrow what you can do today.”

Let me know what that one task is in the comments.  Let’s celebrate together!

Happy Monday!
