“It’s impossible to out-imagine God. He orchestrates time, creates light, and speaks things into existence—from the largest stars to the smallest starfish. God is a powerful, purposeful, personal, unparalleled Creator.” – Louie Giglio
“The heavens tell the glory of God. And the skies announce what his hands have made.” (Psalm 191:1)
This book is based on Louie Giglio’s popular messages “Indescribable” and “How Great Is Our God”. In the book he shares 100 devotions pointing to the awe-struck wonder of God’s creation. He takes us through the topics of:
- Space, Galaxies, Planets, and Stars
- Earth, Geology, Oceans, and Weather
- Animals—from Hummingbirds to Dinosaurs
- Our Minds, Bodies, and Imaginations
I’ve loved reading through some of these devotions, as they are chocked full of great scientific findings! Like this one:
“A diamond is made from pure carbon, like graphite (which is your pencil lead). But in order for a diamond to form, extreme pressures and incredibly hot temperatures are needed over a long period of time. This usually happens at about 100 miles below the Earth’s crust – so volcanoes make good diamond “factories”. When the volcanoes erupt, the diamonds “shoot” up toward the Earth’s surface.”
How cool is that?!
I don’t know about you, but science was never this fun for me when I was in school!!
And, as you begin to read these with your kids, watch their anticipation and excitement grow to overflowing, as they will want to tell their friends all about the “cool stuff” they learn.
What’s also pretty neat, are the “Be Amazed” sections at the end, that share some fascinating facts, hands-on activities, and a closing prayer.
These would make the best stocking stuffers this Christmas! What’s better than a gift learning about God and Science!
